Student Energy is a global NGO empowering the next generation of leaders who will accelerate our transition to a sustainable energy future. We have a network of 50,000 young people in over 120 countries committed to this movement.

Since 2009, Student Energy has been delivering programming that makes young people excited about energy as a climate solution, and provides the skill-development and networks they need to make tangible change happen. We believe in the power of youth, and our programming provides opportunities to strengthen and leverage young people’s collaborative and innovative abilities.

SES is an incredible experience to unite with your peers from around the world and work with the top minds in energy to show how youth can shape our energy future.
— Meredith Adler, Executive Director of Student Energy

Student Energy started with a spark. Three driven students, passionate about energy, found themselves with no space to talk to key influencers who were determining their energy future.

It took just one ambitious idea: an international summit, with hundreds of youth passionate about energy, the world’s energy leaders, and three days of innovation and dialogue, for that spark to turn into something much bigger.

Since the first International Student Energy Summit in 2009, Student Energy has reached 1.5 million individuals around the world and become a movement of the next generation of energy leaders who will accelerate the world’s transition to a sustainable energy future.

Student Energy Chapters are student-led, post-secondary organisations that develop the leadership skills needed for the energy transition. Chapters address energy topics in their local communities by facilitating events, executing energy projects, hosting regional summits, and more. Our Chapters are located all around the world, and they are united by a multidisciplinary, global network.
